A spokesperson from the Nassau County Police Department announced the arrests of four men who were taken into custody during a bust that took place shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 in Hempstead.
According to detectives, the joint investigation included the department’s Special Victims Squad, Gang Investigation Squad, and the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, which conducted the bust at a Baldwin Road home on Thursday afternoon.
Those arrested:
- Walter Reyes, age 39, of Beebe Street in Hempstead;
- Jose Cortez, age 50, of 112 Street in Queens;
- Marlon Mendoza, age 53, of Homan Boulevard in Hempstead;
- Noe Mendez, age 42, of Saint Pauls Road in Hempstead.
No other details regarding the investigation have been released.
Police said that Reyes and Cortez were both charged with third-degree promoting prostitution.
Mendoza was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Mendez was charged with patronizing a prostitute.
Reyes, Cortez, and Mendoza were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, April 15 in First District Court in Hempstead, while Mendez was issued an appearance ticket to appear in court on Tuesday, April 26.
